We,
the members of the Chinese United Methodist Church, Los Angeles, are
called to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to, and to minister
to the needs of the Chinese people residing in China Town, Los Angeles
and the neighboring area. We believe in the Bible, as contained
in the Old and New Testaments, as the inspired Word of God. We
believe in the Trinity of the Father, who is the Creator of the Universe,
Jesus, who is the Saviour and Lord and the Holy Spirit, who is the source
of power of our mission and comfort and guidance for our daily life.
We celebrate our faith through worship, Baptism, holy communion, prayer,
fellowship, evangelism, service and United Methodist ministries.
Believing that all Christians are the light and salt of the world, we
encourage one another to live a good Christian life and to be witness
of Christ in homes, workplaces and wherever we go. We also encourage
one another to grow in the Spirit so that we can help to build up the
body of Christ, that is the Church.
Therefore we commit ourselves to the study of the Bible, to daily prayer,
worship, sharing of the good news of Jesus with others and service in
and outside of the Church. We also commit ourselves to caring
for the spiritual and physical well being of one another. We aim
at growing in the faith, love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
so that we can be a good witness in our community.
