Celebrating the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day
brings us new hope and joy while we enjoy fellowshipping with our family and
friends from near and far. As the New
Year begins, some of us will start to think of New Year’s Resolutions
we wish to accomplish for the year 2007. First, however, we will think back on our 2006
Resolutions – did we accomplish our goals? Probably, most of us will
say, “I did accomplish two things but not the third. I will make that
same resolution to try harder to achieve it for 2007”. My question is “why do we make these
resolutions when you know you will not keep all of them?” If we know
what is right and wrong, why do we do these wrong things? We know this is
part of the devil’s play on our minds to do wrong. To do the right
things in our lives, we should pray to God for guidance and to help us in any
situation that happens in our daily life. God has a plan for each and every one of us. We have
to keep the faith, be patient and God will give us an answer. God defeats the
power of evil. God’s grace will cover our mistake and weakness. Let’s be open to God’s goodness
in His plan. We may make less moral mistakes and allow God’s goodness
manifests in and through our obedience to God’s will. God gave us his
only son who died for us so that we may go through Jesus to speak to our
heavenly Father in prayer. So Brothers
and Sisters, you do not need to make New Years Resolutions. All you need is to keep your faith in God
and pray to HIM thanking HIM continuously for guidance, help and
forgiveness. |
